Bar/Bat Mitzvahs

There is a moment when a young person begins to see themselves differently—
not just as a child, but as someone with voice, responsibility, and purpose.

Bar and Bat Mitzvah marks that moment.

I work with each student as an individual—getting to know who they are, how they learn, and what matters to them.

Together, we bring their Torah portion to life, connecting ancient words to their own experiences and questions.

This is not about memorization alone.
It is about meaning.

It is about helping a young person stand with confidence, speak with authenticity, and feel connected to something larger than themselves.

I also work closely with families to create a service that reflects your values and vision—one that feels grounded, inclusive, and alive.

“Rabbi Bill presided over both my son’s Bar Mitzvah and daughter’s Bat Mitzvah.   He was patient, kind, and genuinely interested in getting to know what mattered to them.  His approach resulted in wonderfully personalized and meaningful ceremonies.  Rabbi Bill has a subtle way of educating people about Judaism without seeming preachy.  He meets his Bar and Bat Mitzvah students where they are at, and leads them to appreciate that Judaism is accessible and relevant to their lives.”
